Introducing Jen Speri, our new Physical Therapist!

On January 21, Jen Speri, a manual physical therapist, will join us at Haven. We met at a yoga retreat last fall and hit it off immediately. I was blown away at her skill set and holistic approach to physical therapy.

She does it all! Dry needling, cupping, joint mobilization, manual lymphatic drainage, breath work, and gait analysis. I received her work and loved it! I’ve had many clients get amazing results from dry needling and I finally got to experience it myself.

The needles are the same ones used in acupuncture, so they are very fine. I had quite a bit of acupuncture in the past, so that eased my nerves. Dry needling targets the same trigger points I work on with focused pressure, but it reaches them from within the muscle. This can be especially effective for deeper—or more stubborn—trigger points.

Many clients need a little something extra for specific areas of pain or a broader holistic perspective that Jen can address. I am thrilled that we all can work together to help our clients feel even better than before! When I get mystified by my client’s chronic pain, I push them to seek alternate therapies. Now they can just go to the room next door!
